FAQ's & Reviews

The E-bike suitable for you is mostly determined by the terrain you plan to ride on. We have various options available, such as Step Through, Folding, Commuter, Mountain, Cargo, Road, and Gravel Bikes, all of which can be customised according to your specific requirements.  You also need to consider your usage and storage, for example, if you plan to take your bikes on holiday you may want to consider a folding bike.

According to UK law, for an e-bike to be considered a regular pedal bike, it must not surpass 250 watts of power and must have a speed limit of 15.5mph (although it is permitted to pedal or free wheel beyond this speed). Anything that exceeds these parameters is classified as a motorcycle under the law.

When riding a Nippon e-bike, you can use it just like a regular bike. If you need extra power to climb a hill or take a break, you can simply turn on the motor. The motor is pedal-assisted, which means it will start working when you pedal and stop when you stop. The best thing about e-bikes is that you can choose to use the motor to make cycling uphill and long distances easier or turn it off and use it like a traditional pedal bike.

Our Nippon e-bikes come with a thumb throttle, which allows you to completely rest your legs when needed.

You can ride an electric bike if you're 14 or over, as long as it meets specific requirements. These electric bikes are known as 'electrically assisted pedal cycles' ( EAPCs ). You do not need a licence to ride one, and it does not need to be registered, taxed or insured.  Read More

Our E-Bikes can cover up to 50 miles on a single charge, although this may vary depending on factors such as weight, terrain, and settings. It takes approximately 6-7 hours to fully charge our batteries, after which you can start your journey. It's essential to be cautious of lower AH unbranded batteries as they may lead to issues with reliability and reduce the number of miles you can travel, ultimately limiting your range.

Batteries vary but a full charge will cost between 5p and 10p depending on your tariff. To put this into context, a washing machine cycle costs about 30p, or a toaster 2.5p

There is a big difference in quality and comfort. “It’s like comparing a Fiesta to a Ferrari,” “They do the same thing, but they’re not comparable.”
